Lately i've been researching how to build wireless mechanics such as control switches for housing properties. i'd like to be able to control lights, HVAC, security, etc. from a computer/remote or via the internet.

also, i want to build some mechanized way to lower arms w/ lights attached from beneath the jeep for reverse lights. i'd also like to learn about what it would take to turn the jeep on/off, control the radio, AC, and any number of other components from a distance. iPhone? some remote using infrared? RF? i've asked a few folks but i think i'll go to the book store tomorrow and make a couple of purchases. wish i had acces some great hobby store.
